Fenya

Receptionist
Dr. Grant Cumberbirch

Fenya hails from the west coast of Ireland and grew up in County Sligo. Fenya came to Canada in search of a new experience and having previous experience in animal husbandry and having taken animal care courses, a position at Amherst was perfect for her. Fenya works at Amherst as both a receptionist and an assistant.

Fenya has traveled around and also pursued additional studies in Animal Behaviour, Biodiversity and Conservation while living in Cambridge, England. She has worked as a kennel assistant and also in a wildlife park, a hedgehog hospital and as a waitress. Prior to coming to Canada and Amherst she worked as a field worker and data analyst in an environmental consultancy agency.

Some of Fenya’s hobbies and interests are wildlife photography, paddle boarding and going out for good food! At home, Fenya left behind lots of farm animals that she’ll be very excited to see when she goes home.

After her first week at Amherst Fenya said, “I have seen such kindness and a tight knit family environment that I hope I can become a part of it.” We have to say, we love having Fenya at Amherst and really value her as part of the team.
