Dr. Iuliana Sofronia
Veterinarian
Dr. Sofronia moved to Canada in 2000 with her husband, and son. She began working at Amherst in January of 2002 as an Animal Health Technologist. She has remained with the hospital in this capacity until she acquired the Certificate of Qualification in June of 2010 enabling her licensure as a veterinarian within North America. Dr. Sofronia’s particular area of medical interest is small animal dentistry; a discipline in which she markedly excels. We are very fortunate to have had her join our team and know that she will provide the same high level of patient care that we are proud to practice here at Amherst Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Sofronia is not just an animal lover but loves to be in nature, she regularly hikes and camps throughout BC with her family in tow. Iuliana may be a great doctor, but she also amazes us with her handy talents for repairing various mechanical items in the hospital and at home. She keeps her artistic side blooming with knitting, and painting pottery. Iuli says that “I am really enjoying my job! I consider myself honoured and lucky, and I’m happy that I’m able to work at such a great vet hospital like Amherst. Amherst is an excellent place to work, with wonderful people who are my family.
