Dr. Deb Archeck

Veterinarian
Dr. Grant Cumberbirch
Dr. Deb Archeck has recently joined our Amherst team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her.

Deb was born and raised in Vancouver. She earned a BA in linguistics and French and then attended UBC for the pre vet program. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 1989.

Deb spent a blissful five years working on Bowen Island and West Vancouver, then locumed for a few years before settling at Yaletown Pet Hospital for 17 wonderful years.

Deb has a special interest in building client relations. She likes to take the time to get to know her client and their pet over time, this is very important to her. Other areas of interest for her are dentistry, caring for senior pets and working as a team with clients to achieve the highest quality of life for their pets.

Deb has always wanted to be a vet. From a young age she would bring home ‘stray’ animals on a regular basis to care for. It was often discovered that in fact, these dogs were not stray dogs! Deb was able to follow her passion for animals and is very happy that she chose this career.

Deb has many interests and loves living in beautiful BC. She loves to hike and ski the mountains. She plays tennis, loves cooking and gardening and enjoys travelling when she is not caring for pets.

Deb and her family share their home with a small but mighty chiweenie named Hannah. A kitty cat brother or sister will soon join the family. Her husband Rob and her son Josh are very happy about this as they have always had a cat in the family.

Deb feels very excited and fortunate to join the Amherst team, having heard such good things about us. The feeling is mutual. We feel very lucky to have Deb as part of the Amherst family and are looking forward to great times ahead.
